Short summary

Detailed summary
LONG SUMNMARY: Ryan Chappelle arrives at CTU to take command and has decided that both Ramon and Jack are expendable. Jack heads for downtown knowing that the military cannot shoot him down in a populated area.
Hector Salazar waits with his own plans for Jack Bauer, when Gael calls to update them on how things are going.
Chappelle wants Kim gone and Michelle is worried, but Kim promises she'll work her hardest. Chase tells Chappelle that it is best to get the President's permission before shooting Jack down, due to their personal relationship.
Wayne contacts Palmer through his earpiece and the President leaves the stage mid-debate to Senator Keeler's outrage.
Dr. Duncan greets Kyle and Linda on their arrival at National Health Services.
Palmer, although angsting because he really caused the situation in the first place, has to agree to let them shoot Jack down; while Senator Keeler's staff question whether there is even an emergency.
Jack evades the choppers by landing, and he and Salazar escape - just in time to miss hearing the communication that warns them that Kyle Singer has been found.
At 6:30 PM, Kyle gives an emotional farewell to his parents as he prepares to die.
Wayne advises the President to publicly denounce Jack's actions; as the CTU team wait anxiously to hear if Chase has found him.
Knowing Jack's methods, Chase attempts to find him but fails. Ramon taunts Jack as they near the airstrip.
Michelle happilly informs Chappelle that Tony will leave with no major damage. Michelle asks Adam to send Gael up, as she needs his help to find Ramon's plane.
Gael is in his IT room looking at security feeds of the plane when Kim and Adam enter. They send Gael to Michelle's office and start work in the IT room.
Anne apologises to Palmer, agrees to stay but suggests they postpone their relationship. Wayne is not happy that Palmer is listening to her opinion.
Dr Duncan is shocked to discover that Kyle does not have the virus at all. Chappelle doesn't understand what this means.
Salazar arrives at the airstrip and prepares to kill Jack, after knocking him unconscious. But Hector's men say that Hector wants him alive. They board the plane.
Kim examines Gael's computer, only to discover all of his security feeds. Before she can tell anyone, Gael returns and holds her at gunpoint...
