Senator Palmer attempts to protect Keith's therapist; Jack is reunited with his family; Nina and Tony find their jobs under threat; and Gaines takes one last stand.

LONG SUMMARY: It is 11:00 AM as Kevin directs Jack in the direction of his family. Jack calls Nina, and tells her the location of Gaines' compound. Now that she knows this, she opens the GPS to provide him with a map of the compound. Green is busy telling the agents at CTU that they have to catch Jack, and Tony begs Nina to tell Green what is going on. But Nina is doing this for Jack, and he promises to turn himself in once he finds his family. Tony plays along, because he is doing it for Nina. Nina asks Jack if she can send backup but he refuses. Inside the compound, Teri and Kim hide Eli's body under a bathtub. They begin organising their own escape but there are a lot of people outside and it is going to be hard. Jack puts Kevin in the driver's seat, and hides, gun ready. Kevin warns him that Gaines will kill them both but Jack makes Kevin go up to the gate. Neill greets Kevin, and questions his injuries, but lets him in. The men arrive inside and Jack knocks Kevin out after getting him to identify the correct building on the GPS. Jack moves silently through the compound, having to avoid Gaines' thugs. Gaines himself is moving out and Rick and the other thugs are loading things into the trucks to leave soon. Andre calls Gaines, and it seems he has no intention of letting anyone who knows about him live. Gaines asks Rick to check on Eli after he finishes loading up the truck.

In the limo, Palmer tells Mike what he fears and Mike promises to call Ferragamo. But Palmer has already left a message and Mike is furious that the Senator exposed himself like that. Ferragamo returns Palmer's call, but he has mistaken the warning for a threat and believes that Palmer covered up Keith's murder. He stubbornly hangs up and diverts all his calls to his answering machine. Desperately, Palmer tells Mike that the speech he has to make can be late, as he needs to see the doctor in person.

At CTU, Nina tells Green that Jack is not a threat to Palmer and if she is a suspect she should undergo a lie detector test. But Green recognises a stall tactic when she sees one and suspends both Tony and Nina. The first person that tells the truth has a career, the other will be prosecuted and discharged. Green interrogates Tony first and tries to induce a response by saying he is being used by Nina. She gives him ten minutes to think it over.

At the compound, Teri and Kim go to attack an intruder but it is Jack. As the family is reunited, Jack comforts Teri who is in pain again. Rick comes in and the women tell Jack he is on their side but Jack continues to be cautious and angry with Rick. Teri begs Jack not to leave so Rick promises to steal one of the red vans or at least create a diversion.

As the limo pulls up to Ferragamo's office, they see it is on fire and Ferragamo is dead. Palmer realises Carl's men torched the office. Mike stresses that going public isn't the right way to deal with this but Palmer has already made up his mind.

As Rick goes about stealing a van, he tells Gaines that Eli is stealing a grave. As Rick prepares to hijack a van, Gaines catches him and when it seems the end is in sight, he is rescued. Neill pages Gaines and says that he has found Kevin unconcious. Gaines orders Rick to drive to where Neill is. Green is ready to fire one of the agents when she gets a call from Jack. He tells her where he is, and to bring air support, and he also tells her about his family and how he has not spoken to anyone from CTU since he left earlier. Green orders backup and releases Tony and Nina since Jack vouches for them. She also checks to make sure the Bauer family are missing. As the group at the compound wait for Rick, Jack promises life will be better from now on. Gaines, Rick and Neill wake up Kevin who tells them about Jack and Cofell. Rick speeds off in the truck and the Bauers climb inside. Gaines and all his thugs give chase and try to gun down the truck. With the tyres punctured and windows broken, the gang climb out and Jack gives the women the palm pilot and shows them a watertower to wait at. He also tells them he will send CTU to pick them up. Rick and Jack puncture the gas tank and run off as Rick gets shot in the arm. Some thugs make it to the van and it explodes, thanks to Jack. Gaines, Neill, Kevin and others aren't killed, however and they continue to give chase. Jack refuses to leave Rick behind and helps him out of the woods as they run for their lives.
